John-Paul Heil is a PhD candidate in early modern history at the University of Chicago and an adjunct professor of history at Mount St. Mary's University. He is a 2021-22 Fulbright scholar studying in Modena, Italy and served as an intern at Good Soil Farm, LLC. His work has appeared in Time, Smithsonian Magazine, and the Los Angeles Review of Books.
