Mark Juergensmeyer

Mark Juergensmeyer is a Professor in the Departments of Sociology and Religious Studies and Director of Global and International Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The recipient of numerous awards, he received the National Grawemeyer Award in 2003 for his work on religion and conflict. He is the author or editor of fifteen books, including Terror in the Mind of God: The Global Rise of Religious Violence (2003); Gandhi’s Way: A Handbook of Conflict Resolution; and The New Cold War? Religious Nationalism Confronts the Secular State (1993).
