Adam Michnik

Adam Michnik is the Editor-in-Chief of Gazeta Wyborcza, the biggest daily newspaper in Poland. He co-founded KOR (Committee for the Defense of Workers) in 1976 and spent a total of six years in Polish prisons for activities opposing the communist regime. A prominent “Solidarity” activist during the 1980s, Mr. Michnik was a member of the Round Table Talks of 1989 and a member of Poland’s first non-communist parliament from 1989 to 1991.
