Isaac Ariail Reed


Isaac Ariail Reed, a senior fellow at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Culture and codirector of its Hannah Arendt Working Group on Critical Theories of Modernity, is a professor of sociology at the University of Virginia. He is the author of Interpretation and Social Knowledge: On the Use of Theory in the Human Sciences and coeditor of Social Theory Now. His latest book, Power in Modernity: Agency Relations and the Creative Destruction of the King’s Two Bodies, will be published by the University of Chicago Press in March 2020.
