Michael Walzer is an American political theorist and public intellectual. He is a professor emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, and co-editor of Dissent. He is the author of, among others, A Foreign Policy for the Left, In God’s Shadow: Politics in the Hebrew Bible, and The Paradox of Liberation: Secular Revolutions and Religious Counterrevolutions.
