Lenny Moss, a former Berkeley and UCSF molecular cell biologist and Notre Dame professor of philosophy, is presently living in London, lecturing at a British university, and working on a new book about the science and philosophy of “natural detachment and the emergence of normativity.” He is the author of What Genes Can’t Do (MIT Press).
Like it or not, the basis of human culture has a great deal to do with the evolution of a socio-affective/social-cognitive infrastructure that opens up an enormous arc of possibility.
