Literary and media critic Paul A. Cantor (1945–2022) was Clifton Waller Barrett Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of Virginia. His books included Pop Culture and the Dark Side of the American Dream: Con Men, Gangsters, Drug Lords, and Zombies and Shakespeare’s Roman Trilogy: The Twilight of the Ancient World, among others.
Among their many meanings, zombies have come to symbolize the force of globalization.
