Seyla Benhabib is the Eugene Meyer Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at Yale University. She is the author most recently of The Rights of Others: Aliens, Citizens and Residents (2004, winner of the Ralph Bunche award of the American Political Science Association) and Another Cosmopolitanism: Sovereignty, Hospitality and Democratic Iterations (2006), based on her Berkeley Tanner Lectures, with commentaries by Jeremy Waldron, Bonnie Honig, and Will Kymlicka. She was awarded the 2009 Ernst Bloch prize of the city of Ludwigshafen for her contributions to analyzing the conflicts of a multicultural global world.
